This range is designed to replace the traditional incandescent lamp that looks almost identical but with the efficiency of using LED's. Sapphire crystal has more than 35 times better thermal transmission than glass so can dissipate 35 times at least more heat so the filaments run cooler also the thermal expansion is far less than glass so any bonding has less stress on it all together, increases reliability by orders of magnitude.
